Diversity and Inclusion Statement

PDC2024 accessibility and diversity

The Participatory Design Conference in Sarawak is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community where all attendees feel valued, respected, and heard. We believe that diversity in all its forms, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, culture, gender, age, ability, sexual orientation, and socio-economic background, is a crucial aspect of design and creativity.

As such, we are dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all participants, where everyone is encouraged to actively participate and contribute to the conference. This includes but is not limited to ensuring accessibility for individuals with disabilities, promoting equal opportunities for underrepresented groups, and taking action against any form of discrimination
or harassment.

We recognize that creating a truly diverse and inclusive community requires ongoing effort and intentional action, and we are committed to continually reflecting on and improving our practices. By embracing diversity and fostering an inclusive atmosphere, we aim to create a rich and meaningful experience for all participants, one that advances the participatory design field and
benefits society as a whole.
